During lunch today, I decided to make a quick trip to Shoprite, thinking it wouldn't be too busy on a weekday. I was wrong. I rushed to make sure I had enough time to enjoy my lunch in peace—I’m one of those people who likes to savor their meal. As I dashed into Shoprite, I remembered I needed a couple of avocados, turkey meat, and some prepared lunch (note to self: never shop on an empty stomach). After picking up the avocados, I spotted the ready-made food section. I grabbed a dish of meatballs and mashed potatoes, which was delicious. Next, I headed to find the toilet paper that was on sale.
Since I wasn’t too familiar with the store, I ended up rushing down the aisles, glancing up at the signs and searching for the right section. Near the end of one aisle, I ran into an old colleague. We exchanged greetings, but since I was in a hurry, I could only briefly explain that I was on my lunch break and needed to grab some sale toilet paper. He gave me a quick nod and wished me well.
I continued my search, finally found the paper goods aisle, grabbed a pack of toilet paper, and headed to the self-checkout. Of course, there was a line, and the register didn’t apply the discount right away, which meant cashier support to fix it. I rushed out of the store, only to realize I couldn’t remember where I had parked. As luck would have it, I bumped into my ex-colleague again in the parking lot. He probably thought I looked a bit disoriented, swinging a pack of toilet paper and searching around. We chatted briefly again, and I explained my predicament.
Eventually, I found my car and made it home with 20 minutes to spare, just in time to sit down and enjoy my meatloaf and mashed potatoes lunch! 😊
